LA4: Be able to present results of research: Survey analysis

Analysis of my research results from EmmaWallace23

LA1: Use Research Methods to Gather Material: Qualitative Questionnaire (Interview/Focus Group )

After creating my survey via surveymonkey and getting the results back, I formed six more questions to ask a partner. We did this to get a more accurate, in depth response to questions such as do you use Netflix and why, how long do you think a trailer should be and why, etc. I asked questions such as these so that if I were to create a film I would be able to base it around these answers so that my target audience would enjoy it.

LA1: Use Research Methods to Gather Material: Qualitative Questionnaire ( Electronic )

After creating my Quantitative paper based survey and collecting those results, I then created an electronic survey to find out further why people chose what they did. My questionnaire: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/8T6Y5QP In some questions the answers were quite similar and I saw a sequence, while in some they were quite varied - A common recurrence to why people prefer to watch films at home is because they'd prefer not to spend the money, it's easier and more comfortable. Out of action, comedy, horror, drama and sci-fi; action is the most popular, with just one more vote than horror. People enjoy horror the most as 'it leaves you on the edge of your seat' and simply just because 'I like being scared'. Out of action, comedy, horror, sci-fi and drama; drama is the least popular and the next being romance. Drama was voted least popular because it's 'boring', 'over the top' and simply because 'it's drama...

Quantitative questionnaire (paper based) To gather material and information on the people around me on their opinions and preferences on films, I created a paper based survey. By creating the paper based survey i get to conclude things like what the most popular genre is in the class, why people choose to watch films, etc. In conclusion: Most people only go to the cinema once a month Action is preferred to romance and horror Out of action, sci-fi, horror, romance, comedy and other : action and comedy are the favorite Films are preferred to watch at home, rather than at the cinema or online People tend to watch films more than once  Films are mainly watched for the storyline, rather than for the famous director or actors The majority are subscribed to a film/tv website A small amount still buy dvd's  My survey:

LA3: Know about research techniques

What techniques can be used to conduct research? To conduct research you could use the internet, which there are both advantages and disadvantages to. Some advantages of the internet are that it is accessible anywhere and anyone can access it, meaning the information you are looking for is practically limitless due to the mass amount of websites. A disadvantage to the internet is that there are a lot of sites providing false information. Another way you could conduct research is by using a library. While the internet has many disadvantages, the library doesn't have any at all. This is since it provides you with factual books on everything you would ever want to find out. Another advantage to using a library is that if you needed help finding something there would be a librarian around to help. Lastly, library's are professionally set out so that it's easier for you to find what your'e looking for, which could save time. Thirdly, a way of conducting research could ...

LA3: Know about research methods

Primary research Primary research is research you conduct yourself.  It involves going directly to a source (usually customers and prospective customers in your target market) to ask questions and gather information.   Primary research gives you a lot of specific results. For example, a  focus group  would be asked specific questions that you help design so the information is very targeted to your needs.  More examples include: interviews, surveys (in person or online), focus groups, etc.  An  important advantage is that data collected first hand and is accurate. Secondary research Secondary research  or field  research  is a  research  method that involves using already existing data.  Secondary research includes research material published in research reports and similar documents. These documents can be made available by public libraries, websites, data obtained from already filled in surveys  etc.  ...
