LA1: Carry out a pre-production ( proposal )
Logline
Reliving The Memories is a short film consisting of flashbacks and memories of someone's time back on a trip to Liverpool, mainly focusing on The Beatles.
Screenplay Structure
Act 1: Teen girl looks through her records and chooses to put on Please Please Me by The Beatles
Act 2: Shows the teen venturing Liverpool, visiting all the main spots like The Cavern Club, Penny Lane, Albert Dock, etc.
Act 3: Back to present times, the record stops playing and the film ends.
Characters
My main and only character is the teen who will be exploring Liverpool, who would be played by me. My character isn't named in the film, since the main focus of the film is the scenery rather than the characters, but in the credits I would just use my own name.
Film Treatment
Emma (16) sits down at a table while looking through her record collection. She soon choses Please Please Me by The Beatles and puts it on the record player.
The screen turns black and opens back up to show the scenery of Liverpool. The film follows her walking around the city, going to the popular destinations like Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, The Cavern, etc. This continues for around three minutes, showing more and more destinations, as if we are seeing the city through her eyes.
It eventually transitions back to present times, where we see the record finish playing and she puts it back in its cover, then the film soon ends.
Target Audience
I think the target audience for my short film is very broad and would attract to almost everyone and isn't just limited to one demographic. My main target audience may be teenagers my age, both male and female, who have either experienced Liverpool or want to. My target audience may also be middle aged or older, both male and female, who again can identify to the film or who may want to go.
