Media Content Design and Production Personal Project Management - Plan

My project idea is to create a blog, which I will continuously update, that focuses on music and gigs, showing footage from concerts and giving opinions on both new and old albums. I will create a blogpost online, then insert both photos and videos I have took myself from gigs, also taking my own photos of things such as vinyl’s I own, cd’s etc. I’ll use my phone to film and take photos then I’ll use a computer and software to edit. For the blog itself I’d also need to create a logo which I can do either using computer software or an app. Being a blog, my project isn’t a one off. I have 3+ gigs booked so I plan to take both photos and videos when I’m there to then upload and discuss: what the concert was like, the highlights, etc.

I learned a lot about how you should stay in focus of what you’re talking about as you can go off topic with these things. From what I’ve read from other blogs, it seems easy to go slightly off topic and start talking about your personal opinion on the artist rather than the chosen album. I learnt how some blogs tend to discuss the album as a whole, while others go into much more detail and discuss songs individually which I will also do. To complete my product, I will require a computer to edit on and to create my blog.

I do believe my project is realistic and that I can finish it within the required time. I chose to do this project as beforehand I was originally looking at making a short documentary of my trip to Liverpool. I thought as I am booked up to go a lot of Beatles landmarks I could make a short documentary on that but after thinking about it I didn’t think it was as realistic for several reasons: I’m only there for 3 days so if I were to come home to then realize the footage wasn’t good enough, I didn’t have enough, etc. I couldn’t just go back. While with my current idea, if I were to go to a gig and have the photos/videos turn out not so good, I have another soon after so I could either get more photos at that or I could improvise and write about something else like my records, etc.
