promotional video task

For our first media task we had to create a promotional video for the college: 

I think in the end our video turned out ok and we successfully completed the task given. We worked well as group while facing some difficulties: we originally filmed the video on a mobile phone but after plugging the phone into the computer it wouldn't upload meaning we had to start again which lost us some time. 

I believe our outcome met the criteria and would work well as a promotional video. Maybe to improve we could of added voice overs and perhaps made some clips longer and more detailed. 

Evaluation -

I think our promotional video went quite well: the end product was good, it met the criteria and we worked well as a team. 

  

We originally filmed the video using a mobile phone which soon caused us some difficulties: the footage wasn’t very clear due to my hands involuntarily shaking while filming, then on top of that when plugging my phone into the computer the footage wouldn’t upload. This meant we had to restart filming but this time using a camera and tripod. Having to restart the project I think lost our group quite some time, but at least we know for next time.  

  

I think the good things that came out of our project were that we met the criteria so it was clear what we produced was made to promote the college, I think the footage we filmed (along with the song choice) showed the college in a positive light. The footage was quite smooth apart from the slight stiffness of the tripod at times. Lastly a positive to come out of this project is that I became closer friends with the people in my group, since beforehand we didn’t know each other very well/at all.  

  

I think something I could improve on for next time is that I could make the videos longer, making the final product more detailed in the long run, and also (since it was my first time using the software we used) I’d like to educate myself more on editing since we just used the same transitions throughout, and I’d like to know how to use more advanced ones. Also for next time we perhaps need to plan more beforehand, letting us use our time for efficiently as I feel we could have saved quite some time if we did things differently.
